Every Client who calls us wants to know,
“How Long Will This Equipment Appraisal Take?”
Many times these clients as asking in a frantic or exasperated tone of voice. Why?
The Appraisers they have seen or heard about in their past are generally S-L-O-W.
It always amazes us when other Appraisers give estimates of time that are 10 times longer than we take.
Let’s first be clear on two things:
-
We generally take 2-5 days for a Desktop Equipment Appraisal and 5-7 Days for an Onsite Equipment Appraisal.
-
Our Appraisers do 2 – 3 more Appraisals per week than an Average Appraiser.
—
So… Let’s talk about what makes our Appraisal so much faster. (And why others are so much slower.)
Client Communication
It seems obvious, but clear and concise communication between the Appraiser and the Client is critical. This starts by making sure we actually pick up the phone. Also, that the Client fully understands what they need to accomplish and the type of Appraisal they actually need. Most Appraisers are Academic by nature and have a hard time actually relating to the Client’s business needs. We have found that by having our Strategic Appraisal Adviser in place, someone who understands our service as well as business in general, truly HELPS our Clients.

The Quote
We find that by giving you tools, such as provided by this website, you are much more informed and can give us a better Asset List. Our Average quote takes about 1 hour to turn around. If you are waiting on a quote for more than a day – you are probably also going to be waiting on an Appraisal later…
—
The Paperwork
A good (and fast) Appraisal starts by having the paperwork in order. Something as simple as the effective date or value level being wrong or not fully discussed will kill an Appraisal. You would not believe how many times we have heard Clients complain about the previous Appraiser not getting the Value Level right and therefore creating a worthless appraisal report. We take extra care in making sure we understand your reason for the Appraisal and your REAL Goals.

Data Collection
Desktop: We provide our Client with proprietary equipment appraisal forms and any needed training to properly collect the data. This saves massive amounts of time for our Client while collecting the Data. This saves massive amounts of time for the Appraiser / Researchers, as well, by eliminating issues like handwriting, picture uploads, and many other potential problems.
Onsite: Our Onsite Data Collection method has been fine-tuned to eliminate wasted time, double (or triple) data entry, and is technologically advanced. We are discreet, knowledgeable, and prepared. We focus on the task and try to have as small of an impact as possible on your time. Not only that, but we work after hours, weekends, and any other time needed to get the site visit completed. Many times, due to our client’s timing needs, we bring in Appraisers from other areas who are knowledgeable with the Equipment type. This drastically speeds up our process, instead of trying to wait for a “local” guy to be available.

Technology
The Internet has completely changed our Industry. So have Cloud Computing, Digital Cameras, Tablets, Smartphones, and every other technological advancements. We use it all …We are more efficient because of technology …We have better Market Data and …We can get to it faster because of technology. Our competitors have not figured this out for some reason.
—
Research
We take a Team Approach to research. We find that between our in-house database of millions of pieces of equipment and relationships our people have created – we can get better market data faster than ever before. This translates into hours and hours saved per report.
—
The Delivery
You need your report ASAP. As soon as we complete your report, we send you a Digital Copy by email. This allows for a few bonuses. First, you can instantly review the report format and verify that the data is correct. Second, should adjustments be required, we can make them on a live document before we print and ship (and no more waiting on Snail Mail for your review).
In the end, all of these things add up. As we mentioned, you will generally have your completed report 10 times faster. Or, in other words, we can deliver it in 3-5 days while our average competitor can deliver it in 3-4 weeks.
